KAUKAUNA — Meteorologists now track both astronomical spring, and meteorological spring. Jimmy the Ground Hog marks the season by counting the number of weeks left in winter.

But here in Kaukauna, the official beginning of spring always is March 1, when Dick’s Drive-In reopens after being closed for the winter months.

The classic ’50s style eatery opens Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the well-memorized menu that has changed little in generations.

According to its website, the drive-in was owned by Dick and Donna Sternhagen from 1954 to 1997.

In 1997 it was purchased by Brothers Scott and Kevin Lambie who have been the owners ever since.

Serving quality and reasonably priced burgers and ice cream, this family owned establishment has all the passion and dependability you could ever want in a favorite fast food restaurant.

They believe that your favorite items you ordered 30 years ago should taste the same when you come in to order them today.

Stop on in and start making memories!
