KAUKAUNA — The 2024 high school playoffs get under way Friday, including five area teams that have seen plenty of recent success. Three of them go into the post-season as No. 1 seeds in their brackets.
Kaukauna vs. Pulaski, Division 2, 7 p.m. Friday at Bank of Kaukauna Stadium.
For the second straight season, the Ghosts are co-champions of the Fox Valley Association conference and once again have their eyes on a trip to state. Kaukauna lost in the semifinals the previous two seasons. Kaukauna, a No. 1 seed, faces 8-seed Pulaski.
Kimberly vs. Appleton North, Division 1, 7 p.m. Friday at Papermaker Stadium.
Kimberly, conference co-champions with Kaukauna and Neenah, is the No. 2 seed in its bracket. The Papermakers face conference rival Appleton North for the second week in a row. Kimberly won last week’s matchup 10-9.
Freedom vs. St. Croix Central, Division 4, 7 p.m. Friday in Freedom.
The Irish, a No. 1 seed from the Northeast Conference, hosts 7-seed St. Croix Central an extra-qualifier from the Middle Border conference with a 3-4 conference record and 5-4 record overall.
Wrightstown vs. Sturgeon Bay, Division 5, 7 p.m. Friday in Wrightstown.
Wrightstown, a No. 1 seed finished 1-game behind Freedom in the Northeast Conference with a record of 6-1. They host 7-seed Sturgeon Bay, an extra qualifier with a 3-4 conference record.
Little Chute at Xavier, Division 4, 7 p.m. Friday in Appleton.
Little Chute, the 5-seed, travels to Appleton to face Xavier, the 4-seed in its bracket.
