VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Vanessa Uitenbroek, a 2020 Kaukauna High School graduate, finished third in the women’s shot put Saturday at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in Virginia.

Uitenbroek, a senior at Carroll University in Waukesha, who was making her third consecutive appearance at the indoor nationals, successfully marked on five of six throws in the prestigious competition, accomplishing her longest distance of 14.42 meters on her third attempt.

The strong, standout individual performance took on added significance as it ensured All-American honors in the indoor shot put for the second consecutive year for Uitenbroek, the three-time defending College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin champion in the event. This marks her fifth All-American performance of her career..

She came into the day seeded third in the nation in the shot put with a CCIW and Carroll indoor school record distance of 14.90 meters (48-10 3/4), established at the CCIW Indoor Championships on Feb. 23, 2024.

It was Uitenbroek’s eighth career appearance (indoor and outdoor combined) in the NCAA Division III National Championships.
