KAUKAUNA — A blizzard warning was issued overnight for the Fox Valley into Door County, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

Most of the region should see between 7 to 15 inches of snow, with the highest amounts across the Fox Valley and Door County.

In addition, wind gusts could reach 50 mph or higher in the Fox Valley and lakeshore areas, where near-blizzard conditions are possible.

Temperatures near to slightly above freezing could locally reduce snowfall totals right along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow.

Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening.

Travel could be very difficult.

Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

The worst conditions are expected late this afternoon into early Saturday morning.

After the storm clears, temperatures plummet, with highs barely reaching zero into the first part of next week.
