OSHKOSH — The last time Addison Race and Haylie Wittman played together in a softball game was last June when the Galloping Ghosts seniors walked of Goodman Diamond on the UW Madison campus as state champions.

That was until Wednesday when the two college freshman faced each other for the first time in college for a double header in Oshkosh.

Kaukauna Ghosts Fastpitch shared a photo of the former teammates on its Facebook page.

Race is now a pitcher with the St. Norbert College Green Knights (6-6) and Wittman is an infielder with the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh (19-1).

Wittman came out on top in this matchup with Oshkosh winning both games.

Race pitched for the Green Knights in the 5-2 loss in the first game. Wittman went 1 for 3 with a run scored.

Then in the second game, Wittman had two hits on three at bats and scored one run in the Titans 8-0 shutout. Race appeared as a punch runner.

Race, a Sherwood native, has pitched in 5 games with a 3-1 record and 3.92 ERA. She’s also batting .333

Wittman has appeared in 17 games with a .225 batting average.
