KIMBERLY — A person of interest was taken into custody Saturday morning in Kimberly that authorities say is connected to the deaths of two people in Winnebago County.

The incident began around 5:15 a.m. Saturday when the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the Town of Wolf River where deputies discovered two people who were dead.

Police say the deaths are considered suspicious and are continuing their investigation, according to a news release.

Later Saturday morning, about 7:45 a.m., officers from the Fox Valley Metro Police Department and deputies from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Heart of the Valley YMCA in Kimberly where a person of interest was taken into custody.

There was a large police presence at the YMCA during this event, however the YMCA returned to normal operation shortly after and there is no threat to the community, police say.
