KAUKAUNA — At least two area public libraries are warning about a scam event posting that could be collecting personal information.

In a social media post, the Kaukauna Public Library is cautioning patrons to not sign up for what is being advertised as a robotics event.

The library says it is not hosting this event and it is a scam.

The library says it has found postings for this on EventBrite, Facebook, their website and on UpcomingEvents.com.

They remind patrons to check events and invitations found online for authenticity before entering any personal information or financial information.

The Oshkosh Public Library also says they were targeted.

The library said the page collects personal information from interested attendees and may attempt to sell a subscription service.

They have reported the listing to Facebook and are working to have it removed.
