KAUKAUNA — Construction is actively underway at the future Kaukauna Middle School site.
Initial work has begun along Highway 55 in preparation for the future roundabout, with construction on the roundabout and pedestrian tunnel currently scheduled for 2027.
Progress also is visible where work is taking place on the new connection road that will serve as one of the main access points to the site and provide a pathway for utilities.
Crews have begun earthwork to prepare the building pad, marking the first major step in the construction process, according to a news release from the district.
While final design plans are still being developed, early base work is being completed now to allow the soil to settle and compact, helping ensure long-term stability for the roadway.
Ground breaking on the building is scheduled for this summer with an opening of Fall 2028.
