Conceptual renderings of Kaukauna Middle School from Point of Beginning, the district's civil engineer on the project.

KAUKAUNA — Now that spring is here, site preparations have begun for the new Kaukauna Middle School. Here’s what the district has planned over the next few months:

According to the latest update on the district website, work has begun on the site and access points to the new school.

Right off Highway 55, dirt is now moving to start grading for the road and utilities that will connect to a future roundabout.

Construction on the roundabout and pedestrian tunnel is currently scheduled for 2027.

There was grading and utility work starting on the building site last week as well.

Ground breaking on the building is scheduled for this summer with an opening of Fall 2028.

Bids for the building and site work are being finalized.

Another bid pack related to the roundabout, pedestrian tunnel, and bridge connection to KHS to come closer to the end of 2026.

Work was cleared to begin after the Feb. 18 City of Kaukauna Common Council Meeting where the Certified Survey Map for the site was approved.

According to the district, this is the result of over a year of planning and collaboration with KASD, POB, MSA, Outagamie County, City of Kaukauna, Town of Buchanan, Safe Routes to School, Wisconsin DOT, TADI, Concord, Miron, EUA, Kaukauna Police Dept, Kaukauna Fire Dept, and others.

Paid partnership with StoneRidge Piggly Wiggly.
