KAUKAUNA — The Galloping Ghosts are sending eight wrestlers to the WIAA Division 1 individual wrestling tournament beginning Thursday in Madison, led by two-time state champion Liam Crook.
Wrestlers include:
- Andrew DiPiazza at 120 lbs.
- Perry Baehr at 132 lbs.
- Jacksyn Thorpe at 150 lbs.
- Kolin DeGroot at 165 lbs.
- Liam Crook at 175 lbs.
- Brady Sprangers at 190 lbs.
- Zach Winnekens at 215 lbs.
- Nehemiah Lendobeja at 285 lbs.
The 83rd Annual Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Individual Wrestling Tournament will be held Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 26-28, at the Kohl Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Kaukauna has qualified the most wrestlers in the Division 1 field with eight.
Senior Liam Crook, a University of Virginia commit, seeks to win a third State title. He returns to the 175 weight class to defend his championship at the weight last season. Crook also won the 165 title in 2024 with an unblemished mark of 42-0. The top seed of the bracket possesses a 49-1 record this year to give him a 145-2 record the last three seasons.
FINALS ON STATE TELEVISION NETWORK: The championship final matches of all three divisions will be aired live on the WIAA State Television Station WLUK (FOX)/WCWF(CW) in Green Bay/Appleton. The live programming will begin at 5 p.m. The finals will also be streamed live on the network stations’ websites.
