BUCHANAN — A Kaukauna man was flown to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and three others were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Monday night.

According to a news release, the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched about 8:40 p.m. Monday to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of County Highway Z and Haas Road in the Town of Buchanan.

​When first responders arrived, they found two vehicles in a field, one just beyond the ditch, one vehicle further in the field. Due to an unknown utility box being hit, Kaukauna utilities was called to verify there was no live power at the scene.

Buchanan Fire Rescue stretched a line for protection since one vehicle was smoking.

Hollandtown started extrication while the area was being secured.

Investigators say a minivan traveling south on Haas Road failed to stop at a stop sign when it struck an SUV traveling east on Z.

The three occupants of the minivan, all from Illinois, were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a 66-year-old male from Kaukauna, was flown to a local hospital by ThedaStar with non-life-threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately two hours and has since reopened.
