MADISON — Big Powerball wins were frequent in Appleton in 2025 and it looks like the trend is continuing in 2026.

A winning $50,000 Powerball ticket was sold at a Kwik Trip on 306 N. Richmond St. for the Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, drawing. The winning ticket matched four of five (18-21-40-53-60) and the Powerball (23).

Including Saturday’s win, there have been 12 winning Powerball tickets of $50,000 or more sold in Appleton since 2017. Five of those winning tickets were purchased in 2025.

A week earlier, a winning $100,000 Powerball ticket was sold at Festival Foods on Northland Ave. in Appleton for the Dec. 27, 2025, drawing.

Of the 2025 Appleton Powerball wins, two were $50,000 winners, two were $100,000 winners, and largest winning ticket was a $2 million winner, split by seven players.

Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two-percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.

Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available at wilottery.com. Players can also see if their ticket is a winner by using the Lottery’s mobile app, available at the App Store or Google Play.

Powerball drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9:00 p.m. to be included in a drawing. Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with the option to buy the Power Play feature for an additional $1.
