APPLETON — An 82-year-old man died Tuesday morning after his vehicle crashed into a building on West Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton.

According to a news release, officers responded at 11:31 a.m. to a business in the 800 block of West Wisconsin Avenue following reports of a motor vehicle crash.

Witnesses told dispatchers that a vehicle had struck the rear of the building and a man was slumped over the steering wheel.

When they arrived, officers found the driver was unresponsive and not breathing. Responders noted the man was wearing a do-not-resuscitate bracelet, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial findings suggest the driver may have experienced a medical event before the collision occurred.

No other people or vehicles were struck during the incident, and no other injuries were reported.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
