GRAFTON — Eunice Catherine Leemon, a reporter, proof reader and office manager for the Kaukauna Times during the World War II years, died Dec. 6, 2025 at the age of 105.
Her obituary was shared Thursday by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association.
Leemon was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Kaukauna as Eunice Van Dyke and graduated from St. Mary’s School, then Kaukauna High School in 1939, according to her obituary.
From 1942 to 1946, she worked at the Kaukauna Times newspaper as a reporter but also filled in as office secretary and proofreader.
In 1946 she met Richard J. Leemon. They were married on July 25, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kaukauna.
In 1948 they moved to L’Anse, a small village in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to run a department store.
She returned to Wisconsin in 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church ,1619 Washington St., Grafton, with Fr. Steve Lampe presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 1-1:45 p.m.
