KAUKAUNA — Tony Penterman, Kaukauna’s mayor since 2018, told Kaukauna Community News on Sunday that he plans to run for a fifth, two-year term.

Candidates can begin circulating nomination papers Monday, Dec. 1, for the Tuesday, April 7, 2026 election.

The following officers are to be elected, according to the city of Kaukauna:

  1. Mayor, for the term of two years. Current mayor Anthony Penterman’s term will expire on April 21, 2026.
  2. City Attorney, for the term of two years. Current City Attorney Tim Greenwood’s term will expire on April 30, 2026.
  3. An Alderperson, for the term of two years. The term of current Alder Jennie Eggleston, Ald. Dist. No. 1, Wards 1, 2 and 3, will expire on April 21, 2026.
  4. An Alderperson, for the term of two years. The term of Alder John Moore, Ald. Dist. No. 2, Wards 4, 5 and 16 will expire on April 21, 2026.
  5. An Alderperson, for the term of two years. The term of current Alder Mary Jo Kilgas, Ald. Dist. No. 3, Wards 6 and 7 will expire on April 21, 2026.
  6. An Alderperson, for the term of two years. The term of current Alder Marty Schumacher, Ald. Dist. No. 4, Wards 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17 will expire on April 21, 2026.
  7. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a Special Election for a Municipal Judge, to complete the unexpired term vacated by John Proffitt, who resigned in June 2025.  The Common Council appointed Tim Hufschmid to temporarily serve in this role until a Special Election could be held.  The elected judge will serve the remainder of the term, which expires on April 30, 2028.

Kaukauna Area School District Board of Education

An election is to be held in the Kaukauna Area School District, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed.

  • Office: Board of Education Member     Incumbent: Sue Gertz
  • Office: Board of Education Member     Incumbent: Charles West

Nomination papers

The first day to circulate nomination papers is December 1, 2025, and the final day for filing nomination papers in the office of the City Clerk is 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Friday, December 26, 2025 – Last day (5 p.m.) for incumbents not seeking re-election to file Declaration of Non-Candidacy with the City Clerk.

Tuesday, January 6, 2026 – Last day (5 p.m.) for candidates to file nomination papers with the City Clerk.

Tuesday, February 17, 2026 – Spring Primary (if required).
