HOLLANDTOWN — Eleven agencies responded or assisted overnight from Thursday into Friday for a 5-alarm fire near Hollandtown.
According to a news release from the Hollandtown Fire Department, crews were paged out shortly before midnight Thursday for a structure fire on Manitowoc Road in the Town of Woodville, in Calumet County.
While en route, dispatch informed HFD there were flames showing inside and outside of the structure.
HFD activated the MABAS system, going to a box alarm level. This brought in resources from Forest Junction Fire Department, and Harrison Fire Department.
Firefighters were then informed the fire was growing, and upgraded to the 2nd alarm, which brought in resources from Town of Buchanan Fire and Rescue.
Command then requested an aerial truck from Brillion Fire Department, and upgraded to the 5th alarm for tenders only, which brought in resources from Brillion, Stockbridge, and Hilbert Volunteer Fire Department.
The initial knockdown, and being able to find the seat of the fire were key to saving the structure.
Crews then worked for a couple hours more, fighting hot spots.
The scene was cleared around 3:45 a.m.
Brown County Public Safety Communications, Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, Harrison Fire and Rescue, Forest Junction Fire Department, Town of Buchanan Fire Department, Brillion Fire Department, Hilbert Fire Department, Stockbridge Fire Department, Brillion Ambulance, and Harrison First Responders assisted.
