JANESVILLE — A crash involving a Janesville Fire Department ambulance and another vehicle Saturday sent the occupants to area medical facilities for evaluation.

Photos shared on social media show the ambulance on its side at a busy east side intersection.

According to a news release, Janesville police officers and fire department personnel were dispatched shortly after noon Saturday to a traffic crash with injury involving a Janesville Fire Department ambulance.

Occupants of the vehicles were transported to medical facilities for evaluation, according to Janesville Police.
 
Due to the crash involving a City of Janesville emergency vehicle, State Patrol was requested to assist with the investigation.

At this time, the crash is still being investigated and there have been no charges or citations issued.
