KAUKAUNA — Officer Mark Stary was sworn in Tuesday at the Kaukauna Common Council meeting as the newest member of the city’s police department.

Stary grew up in Kaukauna, attended Kaukauna High School and says he is excited to serve the community he grew up in.

Most recently an officer with the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department, Stary graduated KHS in 2009 where he played wide receiver fir the Ghosts. He attended UW-Oshkosh where he majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Sociology, according to his bio with the Hobart/Lawrence PD.

After college, Stary worked from the Department of Corrections at Dodge Correctional Institution, then left to work at a group home. Later, his career took him to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department, where he worked in the jail division as a supervisor, as well as a field training officer.
