KAUKAUNA — Kaci Franzen, a Kaukauna Area High School senior, was named the winner this past weekend of the prestigious Bush Vocal Music Prize at St. Norbert College.

This vocal competition is sponsored by the Dudley Birder Chorale of St Norbert College, Robert and Carol Bush and the Bush family. Their gift 20 years ago makes this award possible and continues to support music education in northeast Wisconsin.

High school singers from around the area were invited to audition for the award, which comes with a monetary award for the winner and the winner’s school choral program, according to a news release.

Franzen is the first student to win the competition from Kaukauna. She will also have the opportunity to perform at the Chorale’s spring concerts in early May.
