KAUKAUNA — Junior Bron Schaefer, a standout athlete at Kaukauna High School, announced this week on social media that he will attend college and play baseball at Appalachian State University.

Schaefer has excelled as both a pitcher and quarterback for the Ghosts.

He’s ranked as the No. 26 pitcher in the state for the Ghosts’ baseball team, which finished last season in fifth place in the Fox Valley Association.

As a sophomore, Schaefer was named a first-team, all-conference baseball selection.

Last fall, Schaefer quarterbacked the Ghosts football team to its second-straight Fox Valley Association title along with a deep run into the playoffs before falling to West De Pere in a Level 3 game.

In football, he was named to the second-team all-conference squad last season following his first year as the starting quarterback for the Ghosts.

Schaefer has two seasons left with the baseball team and one for football before graduating in 2026.

The Ghosts’ baseball team begins practice Monday and has its first game April 3 at home against Ashwaubenon.
