KAUKAUNA — In its final game of the regular season, the Kaukauna Ghosts’ boys’ basketball team clinched the outright Fox Valley Association title with a 82-61 win over Fond du Lac.

The Ghosts trailed 26-25 at halftime but outscored Fondy 57-25 in the second for a comfortable win.

Senior Keegan VanKauwenberg scored 30 in the win.

Kaukauna finished the season with a 16-2 conference record, ahead of second-place Fond du Lac which ended the conference season at 14-4.

This is Kaukauna’s first title since 2016.

The Ghosts now will enter the 2025 WIAA Division 1 tournament with a No. 1 seed and will open the playoffs March 7 at home.

The Ghosts will host the winner of the Appleton West-Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln matchup March 5.

Kaukauna has been on a record-breaking sprint at the end of its Fox Valley Association season.

Kaukauna put itself it this position after a record-setting 98-79 win a week ago over Kimberly.

In that game, senior guard Keegan Van Kauwenberg, who will play next season for the UW-Green Bay Phoenix, set the Ghosts’ boys’ single-game scoring record with 56 points.
