APPLETON — Was it theft or was it an honest mistake?
The Appleton Police Department took to social media Wednesday asking for help in finding a person who took a large push snow shovel from in front of a home in the 200 block of North Story Street during a recent snowfall.
Porch cam video from the scene shows the shovel leaning up against a tree, when a van pulls up and the driver gets out. He looks over the shovel, then brings it with him to the van and drives off.
Police say they believe the person may have accidentally taken a snow plow shovel, thinking it was being given away.
