LITTLE CHUTE — A stove fire that began to spread was quickly extinguished Wednesday night by the Little Chute Fire Department.
According to a news release, the Little Chute Fire Department was sent about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday to the 900 block of E. Elm Drive for reports of a stove fire with moderate smoke visible from the entry door.
When they arrived, crews discovered that the fire had extended to the surrounding area of the stove.
Firefighters quickly brought the situation under control, and prevented further spread. Crews ventilated the structure and closed the scene.
Damage estimates are currently unknown, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
“We’d like to remind everyone to always keep a fire extinguisher or fire blanket nearby and ensure smoke detectors are in working order,” the fire department said in a social media post.
