KAUKAUNA — A member of the Kaukauna Fire Department is leaving for several months of military training in North Carolina.
Probationary Firefighter/Paramedic Ray Shanle will be away until late April for the training, Kaukauna Professional Firefighters Local 1594 announced Friday in a social media post.
“While we won’t have Firefighter Shanle around the station or community, we know that he will be protecting our country and fighting for our freedoms,” the local said in the statement.
The firefighter’s local expressed gratitude for Shanle’s service to both the community and the country, wishing him safety and a quick return.
