BUCHANAN — A Brillion man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries early Sunday after his vehicle crashed into a field and rolled in the town of Buchanan just outside of Kaukauna.

According to a news release, the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office was sent about 2:30 a.m. Sunday to a home on County Highway GG near Nackers Road in the Town of Buchanan for a report of someone who walked to a residence after being involved in a motor vehicle crash.

The caller said the driver’s face was bleeding and the man possibly had a broken arm.

When deputies arrived, they determined the driver had sustained life-threatening injuries from the crash and was then taken to a local hospital.

Investigators learned the crash occurred on County Highway Z at Clune Road, and the driver, a 26-year-old man from Brillion, was traveling east on Z when his vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch, and continued through a field while rolling over multiple times.

Alcohol, speed, and poor weather conditions all appear to be contributing factors in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.

The road was closed for around 3 hours, and has since reopened. The crash remains under investigation

The sheriff’s office was assisted on scene by Kaukauna Police Department, Buchanan Fire & First Responders, Combined Locks Fire & First Responders, and Gold Cross Ambulance.
