KAUKAUNA — The city of Kaukauna is searching for a new alderperson following the retirement of longtime Alder Mike Coenen in District 4.

The city last month recognized Coenen for his more than 14 years of service to the City of Kaukauna.

“Thank you, Alder Coenen, for your service, dedication, and countless contributions to the betterment of our city. We wish you the best in your retirement and the next chapter of your life,” read a post on social media.

The appointment will begin in January and will expire in April 2026.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States of America, reside within the corporate limits of the City of Kaukauna within District 4 at the time the application is submitted, and not have been convicted of a felony in any court in the United States unless duly pardoned.

The deadline for application is December 27, 2024, by 4 p.m.

Interested and eligible residents should submit a Letter of Interest to fill the vacant Council position.

Interviews are planned to be held during the Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
