KAUKAUNA – Dr. Kristin Lyerly, the Democratic nominee for Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District, announced today she has raised more than $1.1 million in the 3rd quarter, with contributions from over 26,000 individual donors.

Lyerly, an obstetrics doctor specializing in pregnancy and childbirth, faces Trump-backed Republican Tony Wied in the Nov. 5, 2024 general election.

A 1987 graduate of Kaukauna High School, Lyerly, then Kristin Schmalz, obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in 1993, an M.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 2007, and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Wisconsin in 2009.

“These historic numbers reflect both the enthusiasm we’re seeing on the ground and the unique vulnerabilities that Tony Wied has. Gas prices and reproductive rights are top of mind for Wisconsin Eight voters, and Tony Wied’s record on both is abysmal, making this seat a prime target. Coupled with the relative affordability of the Green Bay media market, this haul puts the Lyerly campaign in a strong position heading into November,” spokesperson Kurt Frewing said.

Her fundraising total is the strongest quarter raised by any candidate, from either party, who has run in the 8th District, ever, according to a news release from her campaign.

Lyerly’s 3rd Quarter By The Numbers:

✅ > $1.1 Million Raised

✅ > 26,000 Individual Donors This Quarter

✅ < $30 Average Donation

✅ 83% First Time Lyerly Campaign Donors

The fundraising announcement comes on the heels of Lyerly earning key endorsements from EMILYs List, Planned Parenthood, and the Wisconsin AFL-CIO.
