KAUKAUNA — A 65-year-old man died Saturday night at Wisconsin International Raceway after his vehicle crashed on the drag strip.

According to a news release, fire and EMS units from Combined Locks Public Safety, Town of Buchanan Fire and Rescue, deputies from Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Cross Ambulance were called about 3:30 p.m. Saturday to Wisconsin International Raceway on County Highway KK in the town of Buchanan for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.

When emergency responders arrived, they found that a vehicle using the drag strip had struck a concrete bridge rail and the driver was ejected from the vehicle into a ditch near the track.

The driver was a 65-year-old Outagamie County man.

Due to the injuries, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s next of kin has been notified by Outagamie County Deputies.
