APPLETON — Power is out for dozens of customers in communities throughout the Fox Valley as a strong storm pushed through the area late Tuesday morning.
Shortly after 11 a.m., the National Weather Service in Green Bay reported a strong to severe line of storms moving into the Fox Valley with damaging winds of 50-60 mph, lightning, and heavy rain lowering visibility are the main threats.

About noon, the Appleton Fire Department reported it was responding to multiple downed trees and power lines throughout the City of Appleton, and urged residents to take extra time while commuting and stay indoors if you can.
The winds became so strong that at 1:15 p.m., the Wisconsin Department of Transportation northeast region office in Green Bay is announced a wind advisory for the Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge (I-43) in Green Bay.
Vehicles on the bridge at the time were urged to slow to 45 mph. Drivers of high-profile vehicles (semi’s, RV’s, tall trailers) were cautioned to avoid the bridge altogether.
The advisory has since been rescinded.
In Kaukauna power crews have been working throughout the day to restore power after a tree fell on a major power line about 1:15 p.m. shutting off power to more than 100 customers.
