KAUKAUNA — Weather forecasters had predicted a threat of severe weather in the Fox Valley Tuesday night, and Kaukauna ended up being among the hardest hit.

Kaukauna Utilities crews worked through the night and were able to restore power to most customers. Of those remaining without power (approximately 40 customers), most will need to contact an electrician to have your service/meter socket repaired.

The storm tore through the city about 9 p.m. Tuesday, and at one point power was out for more than 4,000 customers.

Many trees remain down Wednesday morning throughout the city as homeowners wake up to assess the damage.

The Red Cross has set up a shelter overnight at Kaukauna High School for residents of an apartment building in Kaukauna that was damaged by Tuesday’s storms.
