KAUKAUNA — City of Kaukauna government officials quickly mobilized Tuesday when severe thunderstorms with driving winds blew through Kaukauna damaging trees and property.

City of Kaukauna Police Department and Fire Department along with assistance from the Outagamie County Emergency Management team, Red Cross, Little Chute Fire Department, and Combined Locks
Fire Department worked through the night to assist with emergency efforts including relocating more than 50 residents who were displaced from their home.
The Street Department and Kaukauna Utilities crews also worked to clear roadways and restore power.
Around 9 a.m. this morning, the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), an organization of trained volunteers, began documenting damage around the city.
The Red Cross is actively working to find more permanent housing solutions for those who were displaced.
There are no known injuries at this time.
Residents and travelers are asked to keep the roads as clear as possible while crews assess
and clear damages and debris.
Residents without power are welcome to visit the Community Room at the Street, Park and Recreation (SPaR) building located at 207 Reaume Ave. to charge their devices.

Debriefing of storm:
- At 9:05 pm last night, May 21 the City of Kaukauna began receiving calls for service
- Police Chief Jamie Graff and Fire Chief Jake Carrel activated the city’s emergency
operation center shortly after. - Calls for service were mostly for downed power lines and trees, there are no known
injuries at this time. - Outagamie County Emergency Management, Red Cross, Little Chute Fire Department,
and Combined Locks Fire Department arrived last night and assisted with transferring
over 50 residents who were displaced from Round House Manor Housing to a temporary
shelter. - Currently the Community Emergency Response Team is out doing a damage
assessment and we are looking for a more permanent solution to the displaced
residents. - Big thank you to the Outagamie County Emergency Management team, Red Cross,
Little Chute Fire Department, Combined Locks Fire Department, and the Community
Emergency Response Team for helping us clean up from last night.
