REGION’S LARGEST VOLUNTEER TRASH CLEANUP RETURNS ON MAY 4, 2024

Over 1,600 volunteers will remove over 7,000 pounds of trash and debris from over 65 locations from Green Bay to Fond du Lac.

GREEN BAY – Garbage shouldn’t be one of the signs of spring, but after the snow melts, trash and debris are often left behind.

Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance brings volunteers together on the first Saturday in May to clean up parks and trails from Green Bay to Fond du Lac.

Sites in Kaukauna include the Konkapot Creek Trail, 1000 Islands Nature Preserve and Grignon Park.

Multiple sites also are available in the Appleton and Green Bay areas.

The 12th annual event will happen this year on Saturday, May 4, 2024, according to a news release.

Volunteers can select from over 65 different cleanup sites across northeast Wisconsin. Sites include public parks, trails, and boat launches.

Planners expect over 1,600 volunteers to register to help. They anticipate removing over 7,000 pounds of trash and debris with just 2.5 hours of work. After the cleanup is complete, volunteers are invited to Pierce Park in Appleton for a celebration picnic. Guests will enjoy food, bounce houses, and an appearance by Ed the Diver.

Registration for this event will remain open until April 23. See more at www.fwwa.org/cleanup.
