NEW YORK — Kaukauna High School band students are currently in New York City marching in the St. Patrick’s Day parade March 16, 2024.

KAUKAUNA — The Kaukauna High School Band announced it will peform in the 2024 New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The 263rd annual parade takes place Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11 a.m., moving along Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 82nd Street.

Organizers say to expect plenty of Irish flags and shamrocks along with people decked out in kelly green. 

This year’s grand marshal, Maggie Timoney, president and CEO of Heineken USA, is only the fifth woman to lead the parade since its inception.

The New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is the oldest and largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the world. The first parade was held on March 17, 1762 — fourteen years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The parade is held annually in honor of St. Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland and of the Archdiocese of New York. Approximately 150,000 people march in the parade which draws about 2 million spectators.
