KAUKAUNA — The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts’ boys’ basketball team cruised to a 87-29 victory Friday at home over Wausau West in a WIAA Division 1 Regional Semifinal.

They’ll face 13-seed Appleton East, an 58-52 upset winner over 4-seed Eau Claire Memorial.

The upset means 5-seed Kaukauna will have another home game, tipping off at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

The Ghosts won both meetings against the Patriots during the regulars season against East in the Fox Valley Association.

The Ghosts (17-7, 12-6 in the conference during the regular season) finished third in the Fox Valley Association conference and will compete in Division 1 in the WIAA tournament.

The winner of the Regional Final will face the winner of the #9 Kimberly vs. #1 Marshfield game.

The Papermakers advanced Friday with a 57-48 win over Appleton North.
