Community Clothes Closet Operation Cinderella prom dress closet

APPLETON — Collections are taking place throughout the Fox Valley to make sure all students have everything they need for prom.

Students who can benefit are referred to the program should contact their high school guidance counselor to participate.

The Appleton Public Library’s Teen Services team is partnering with the Community Clothes Closet in Menasha on Operation Cinderella.

Prom is only a few months away, so they’re looking for donations to make a teen’s prom wish come true.

Drop off for items is Tuesday, March 5, 2024 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Teen Space at the Appleton Pu lic Library’s temporary location, 3000 E. College Ave.

Items Needed:

  • New or gently used formal dresses or gowns
  • New or gently used tuxedos or suits
  • Accessories such as bow ties/ties, clutches/purses, fashion jewelry
  • New or gently used dress shoes/heels
  • New makeup
  • All sizes welcome

Area schools are also pitching in to collect donations.

In Kaukauna, New Directions Learning Community recently collected new makeup and nail polish for the Community Clothes Closet prom event.

NDLC collected 247 makeup items.

Teens receive a dress, shoes, and new makeup to make them feel confident and beautiful on their special prom night.

Operation Cinderella will be on Friday March 8.

To participate, students should contact their school guidance counselor.
