GREEN BAY — A woman is dead and a man is injured after the couple, in their 80s, were hit by a vehicle while crossing a street Wednesday in Green Bay.

Officers were called out to the scene on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, shortly after 6 p.m. to the 700 block of Bellevue Street.

Witnesses told police that the pedestrians, an 82-year-old Luxemburg woman, who has died, and an 83-year-old Luxemburg man, who has been injured, were seen attempting to cross the street when they were struck by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation, according to a news release.

The crash temporarily closed a portion of Bellevue Street from E. Mason Street to Louise Street for accident reconstruction.

The investigation is ongoing. No additional details will be released at this time.
