APPLETON — Twenty-eight dogs are being nursed back to health at the Fox Valley Humane Association after they were rescued a week ago from a home in Calumet County.

In a Facebook post, the association said the had to move quickly Jan. 16 after receiving news that conditions were more dire than originally known.

Many of the dogs had arrived malnourished and staff has been nursing them back to health.

Two local groomers came in over the weekend to clean up the animals.

They are hoping to start having some of them up for adoption as early as this week. Keep an eye out on our adoptable pets page here if interested in adopting: https://www.foxvalleypets.org/adoption/adoptable-pets/

Monetary donations can be given here: bit.ly/fvhadonate

Their largest need of donations right now include:

  • Gently Used or New Dog Leashes
  • Small Dog Sweaters
  • Small Bites Dog Food (Purina or Iams)
  • Non-Clumping Cat litter (our kitties have needs too!)
  • Puppy Pads
  • Poop Bags
