HARRISON — A 40-year-old Fox Crossing woman was hit and killed Thursday evening while she was walking along Wisconsin Highway 114 near Sherwood.

The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office was called shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Wisconsin Highway 114 near Pigeon Road about 2 miles west of Sherwood.

Investigators say a pickup truck driving west struck the pedestrian in the roadway, according to a news release from the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.

The driver the pickup truck was a 40-year-old man from Sherwood.

Poor visibility due to rain is believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
