GRAND CHUTE — A 57-year-old Kaukauna man has died following a workplace accident early Tuesday in Grand Chute.

Francis L. Wolfinger was pronounced dead after being taken to ThedaCare Neenah according to the Outagamie County Coroner’s office.

According to WBAY, the Grand Chute Fire Department said first responders were called to Konz Wood Products, a pallet supplier on N. Perkins St., at 3:40 Tuesday morning.

Wolfinger was found unresponsive with traumatic injuries. Emergency crews started treating him right away and took him to the trauma center at Theda Care Medical Center in Neenah.

The incident is also under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Kinz Wood Products issued this statement:

“In the early morning hours of December 5, 2023, a long-term and valuable member of the Konz team lost his life due to an industrial accident. The company and all of its employees wish to express their deepest condolences to the family.

“All employees have been offered the opportunity to receive grief counseling through the company EAP provider.
