WISCONSIN RAPIDS — For the second year in a row, the Kaukauka Ghosts girls cross country team finished third at the WIAA Division 1 staye cross country meet held Saturday in Stevens Point.

Senior Sydney Fauske led the girls team with a 13th-place finish.

The Ghosts sent seven runners for the girls team:

The girls team won the title in 2020, finished 6th in 2022 and third a year ago.

Kaukauna was one of four teams that finished in the top 10 a year ago, including Slinger (2nd), De Pere (9th) and Holmen (10th).

Of these, Slinger and Kaukauna had the most returning runners with six, followed by De Pere with four and Neenah with three.
