DOOR COUNTY — Rowleys Bay Resort, one of northern Door County’s iconic vacation destinations, suffered a major fire Tuesday.
Multiple departments from throughout the county responded to the fire that broke out about mid-day.
In a social media post, Rowleys Bay Resort said all employees have been accounted for, and they were working on arrangements for current guests. who had to be evacuated.
Many guests like were able to stay in other area hotels that reached out to help.
The Red Cross also assisted.
Due to the extent of the damage, Rowleys Bay Resort, Grandma’s Swedish Bakery, Rowley’s Pub, and Rowleys Bay Restaurant are closed and unable to accept guests for the foreseeable future, according to the resort.
They are currently collecting the resources they need to reestablish an office space so they can communicate with guests regarding their upcoming reservations.
Because all of their administrative offices and equipment were lost in the fire, they expect this to take a few days.
As soon as they can get records from their reservation system on Wednesday, they’ll be contacting guests in order of their arrival date.
