KAUKAUNA — A pickup truck was destroyed Thursday after it burst into flames in a southside car wash.

The Kaukauna Fire Department was called about 3:20 p.m. Thursday to the Best Wash car wash located at 2600 Konkapot Trail Road for a report of a truck on fire inside one of the wash bay areas.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fully involved pickup truck in the middle of three wash bay areas, according to a news release.

Witnesses posted photos to the Kaukauna Community Facebook group showing the blaze.

The fire was already venting through the roof of the car wash with heavy smoke and flames showing when firefighters arrived.

The driver of the vehicle was not harmed and had moved safely away from the fire.

An initial attack of the fire was accomplished by deploying a mounted master stream located on top of the first arriving engine, according to the news release.

Additional firefighter efforts were made with hand lines.

Firefighters used a hydrant about 400 feet from the fire engine, causing a portion of E. Ann St and Konkapot Trail road to be shut down for a period of time.

Firefighters remained on scene until the fire was confirmed and the scene was overhauled.

No one was harmed, but the car wash sustained significant damage to the roof and roll up doors of the effected wash bay.

Estimated damages of the structure are $50,000. The vehicle located inside is considered a total loss with a damage estimate being around $35,000.
