KAUKAUNA — Early voting in Kaukauna begins Tuesday, March 21, 2023 and runs through through Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Municipal Services building downtown.

Hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

    • Three referendum questions
      • Conditions of release before conviction. Shall section 8 (2) of article I of the constitution be amended to allow a court to impose on an accused person being released before conviction conditions that are designed to protect the community from serious harm?
      • Cash bail before conviction. Shall section 8 (2) of article I of the constitution be amended to allow a court to impose cash bail on a person accused of a violent crime based on the totality of the circumstances, including the accused’s previous convictions for a violent crime, the probability that the accused will fail to appear, the need to protect the community from serious harm and prevent witness intimidation, and potential affinitive defenses?
      • Shall able-bodied, childless adults be required to look for work in order to receive taxpayer-funded welfare benefits?

In the race for Kaukauna school board, four candidates listed on the ballot and one write-in is running.

  • Sue Gertz, incumbent
  • Charles West 
  • Dale Antoine
  • Tracy LyBoualong
  • Mike Campbell, registered write-in

Current board member Joe Huss is not running for re-election, so five candidates will be running for two open seats on the board, according to the district office.

Also on the ballot, two of the four Kaukauna City Council seats on the ballot will be contested.

  • District 1 – Marty DeCoster (I) faces Liz Walker
  • District 3 – Brian Schell (I) faces Chris Britten

Kelli Antoine in District 2 and Pennie Thiele in District 4 are running unopposed.
