BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Vanessa Uitenbroek has become Carroll University women’s indoor track and field’s first ever indoor women’s shot put thrower to become an All-American.
Uitenbroek finished eighth in the event at the 2023 NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field National Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Uitenbroek, a junior from Kaukauna, found her best throw on her second attempt in her flight. Uitenbroek landed her shot 14.20 meters out. Making finals, Uitenbroek recorded another 14-meter throw, this one landing 14.07.
Uitenbroek is now a two-time All-American, including her runner-up finish in the Discus at the 2022 NCAA outdoor championships.
