ALLOUEZ — Two dogs were rescued and no one was injured Wednesday evening following a kitchen fire in the village of Allouez.

Green Bay Metro Fire Department units were sent to a possible structure fire on the 1400 block of Boyd Street where a fire was reported by a passerby who heard the fire alarms going off.

Firefighters able to extinguish the fire quickly inside the kitchen, reducing damage to the rest of the house.

No residents were home at the the time of the fire, but two dogs were rescued from the house without any health problems.

Crews remained on scene for salvage operations, ventilation, and to monitor the air in the home.

The GBMFD Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
