KAUKAUNA — Nominations are now open for the Fox Cities Chamber’s fourth annual Excellence in Education Shining Star Awards.

The awards will be presented at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Grand Meridian.

Online nominations are now being accepted in ten categories.

These awards are open to all individuals who work with students/children, including daycares, preschools, homeschools, public schools, private schools, colleges, etc. from the Fox Cities region, which encompasses Calumet County, Outagamie County, and Northern Winnebago County.

Each award honors a Fox Cities educator who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to supporting students in and outside of the classroom to enhance the educational experiences and outcomes of students.

One award each will be presented in the following categories:

Excellence in Early Childhood: First five years of development and learning, including daycare and preschools
Excellence in Elementary Education: Kindergarten – Grade 4
Excellence in Middle School Education: Grades 5-8
Excellence in High School Education: Grades 9-12
Excellence in Specialty Arts: Band, Choir, Art, Languages, etc.
Excellence in Specialty STEM: Automobile, Robotics, Agriculture, Woods, etc.
Excellence in Special Education: PK-12 Teachers
Excellence in Extra Curriculars: Sports Coaches, Club Directors, etc.
Excellence in School Administration & Support Staff: Principals, Administrative Assistants, Counselors, Librarians, etc.
Excellence in Higher Education: Post-High School Educators, Directors, etc.

Additionally, an Educator of the Year winner will be announced the night of the event and will be selected from one of the 10 recipients. This award honors an educator who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving the quality of education in the Fox Cities region and who has an inspiring presence that motivates and influences students, colleagues, and the community.
