APPLETON — Organizers of a Facebook page devoted to Ukrainians in Wisconsin are holding a rally and donation drive Friday in Appleton.

The rally is set for 5 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Houdini Plaza in downtown Appleton.

Organizers will collet items to donate to Ukraine for civilian and military aid at the rally.

Humanitarian aid items needed include:

Non-perishable food; clothes and footwear for men/women/children; hygiene products (women’s products and diapers, etc.); blankets, bedding, disposable tableware, first aid kits, tents, mattresses, sleeping bags, thermal underwear, standalone lamps, candles, containers for liquid (canisters for water, fuel, lubricants for capacity of 10-20 liters) – Please make sure it is not prohibited by U.S.A.

Basic Military aid items needed include:

Men’s Hiking boots (all common sizes); goggles, lanterns, trekking socks (9-13); thermal underwear (M, L, XL); knee pads (Bodyprox, NoCry, Sellstrom); Walkie-talkies (Samcon, Motorola, Midland); T-shirts; Bottoms (Underarmour, Bodytek, Rocky, Meetyoo); Fleece zip up hoodies; Gloves (Underarmour, Hot Shot, Carhatt, Manzella); Balaclava mask (ROCKBROS, Carhatt, Fanvince); optical sight (Leupold); grabber warmers; hand warmers; hot hands toe/hand/body warmers: Coyote knee protection pads.

Basic medical items needed include:

Gauze sponges; Gauze bandage rolls; Large ice pack for injuries, emergency burn care gel; Mckesson Xeroform petrolatum dressings: 4 x 4 square gauze.

All donated items will be trucked by a local volunteer to Chicago. A Ukrainian shipping company will fly all donations into Poland and truck them into Ukraine to disperse throughout Ukraine as part of an organized humanitarian effort.
