KAUKAUNA — Kaukauna’s local 400 of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing, Pipefitting and Sprinkler Fitting Industry is holding an open house to encourage more women to consider careers in the trades.

The Women in the Pipe Trades Open House will be held on March 8 at the UA 400 Training Facility in Kaukauna, located at 2700 Northridge Drive.

The open house will feature a panel of four women who are leaders in the local trade industry. They include:

  • Kim Bassett, President & CEO, Bassett Mechanical
  • Laura Ceja, training & outreach representative, United Association of Journeymen & Apprentices for Plumbing & Pipe Fitting
  • Maria Blochowiak, HR Director, Team Industries, Inc.
  • Maddie DeJardin, UA 400 third-year steamfitter, apprentice at Bassett Mechanical

This event is free and will give attendees the opportunity to meet and learn from a panel four successful women working in the industry, take a tour of the training facility, view demonstrations and meet representatives from Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 400 contractors.

  • Welcome & Introduction of Panelists 4:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
  • Women in the Pipe Trades Panel Discussion 4:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
