KAUKAUNA — The service group at Kaukauna’s New Directions Learning Community wrapped up its donation drive last week to provide spring baskets for foster kids in the Fox Valley.

NDLC students and families collected hundreds of items for the baskets that will be donated to Lincoln’s Foster Closet in Kaukauna, according to organizer Kristin McEneany. The goal is to provide 70 baskets.

Lincoln’s Foster Closet provides necessary items for foster families in the Fox Valley including hygiene items, clothing and more. NDLC’s project benefits foster families with foster kids under age 10. 

Donations included:

  • Easter candy
  • Small toys & Accessories  (examples include matchbox cars, small card games, mini dolls, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, jump ropes, small balls, nail polish, hair accessories)
  • Art supplies (examples include activity books, crayons/markers, stickers)
  • Plastic Eggs

The collection took place Feb. 22-25, 2022 at NDLC with boxes located outside of each classroom.
