KIMBERLY — Two Kimberly High School students were questioned Wednesday night after school officials were alerted to possibly threatening Instagram posts.

High school administrators notified the Fox Valley Metro Police Department about 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017, that they had become aware of an Instagram post of a Kimberly High School student holding an assault style rifle.

The weapon was later determined to be an air-soft gun, according to a Fox Valley Metro Police news release.

A second post by the same user depicted Columbine High School.

Within three hours, police say they interviewed two students involved and searched their homes and vehicles.

Police determined there was no credible threat to the school or community.

The Fox Valley Metro Police Department worked closely with the Kimberly Area School District and Outagamie County District Attorney’s office on the case.

A decision has not yet been made of the students will face criminal charges, according to the news release.
